Code of Ethics

The Code of Ethics is part of the Association’s Regulations

1. Core Principles


1.1 Integrity
Members shall act with honesty and transparency in all professional activities, maintaining the highest standards of integrity and trustworthiness.


1.2 Professionalism
Members shall demonstrate professional competence and expertise, continually improving their skills and knowledge to deliver high-quality services.


1.3 Confidentiality
Members shall respect the confidentiality of information acquired during the course of professional work and shall not disclose any such information without proper authorization unless legally obligated.


1.4 Responsibility
Members shall accept responsibility for their actions and decisions, ensuring they contribute positively to the reputation and development of the ICT sector.


1.5 Respect and Fairness
Members shall treat all individuals and entities with respect, fairness, and dignity, promoting equal opportunity and avoiding any form of discrimination or harassment.


2. Responsibilities of Members


2.1 Commitment to Ethical Practices
Members shall adhere to ethical principles in all professional dealings, avoiding actions that could harm the reputation of the Association or the ICT profession.


2.2 Compliance with Laws and Regulations
Members shall comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and standards, and shall avoid any activities that could result in legal or regulatory violations.


2.3 Conflict of Interest
Members shall avoid conflicts of interest and disclose any situation that could be perceived as a conflict. Members shall not exploit their position for personal or financial gain at the expense of the Association or its stakeholders.


2.4 Contribution to the Community
Members shall contribute to the advancement of the ICT sector and the community by sharing knowledge, supporting initiatives, and mentoring emerging professionals.


3. Professional Conduct


3.1 Integrity in Communication
Members shall communicate truthfully and accurately in all forms of professional interaction, ensuring that information is not misleading or deceptive.


3.2 Quality of Service
Members shall strive to provide services that meet the highest standards of quality, ensuring that the interests of clients, employers, and the public are protected.


3.3 Intellectual Property
Members shall respect intellectual property rights and shall not engage in activities that infringe upon the intellectual property of others.


4. Enforcement and Compliance


4.1 Reporting Violations
Members are encouraged to report any suspected violations of this Code of Ethics to the appropriate authorities within LICTA.


4.2 Disciplinary Action
Members who violate the Code of Ethics may be subject to disciplinary action, which could include suspension, expulsion, or other penalties as deemed appropriate by the Association.

 

5. Ethical Tendering and Procurement


5.1 Fair Competition
Members shall engage in tendering processes with fairness and transparency, ensuring that all bids and proposals are submitted honestly and in good faith.


5.2 Compliance with Procurement Policies
Members shall adhere to all relevant procurement policies and regulations, ensuring that all tendering activities are conducted in accordance with legal and ethical standards.


5.3 Transparency in Tendering
Members shall provide clear, accurate, and complete information in all tender submissions. Any potential conflicts of interest must be disclosed to ensure that the tendering process is conducted with transparency and integrity.

5.4 Avoidance of Unethical Practices
Members shall not engage in unethical practices such as bribery, collusion, or any other forms of corruption in the tendering process. Any attempts to unfairly influence the outcome of a tender are strictly prohibited.


5.5 Respect for Confidentiality
Members shall respect the confidentiality of information obtained during the tendering process and shall not use this information for personal gain or to disadvantage competitors.


5.6 Commitment to Best Value
Members shall strive to deliver the best value to customers and clients in all tendering processes, ensuring that quality, efficiency, and ethical considerations are prioritized.


6. General Provisions


6.1 Amendments
This Code of Ethics may be amended by the Board of LICTA as necessary to address emerging ethical challenges in the ICT sector.


6.2 Implementation
All members are required to acknowledge and comply with this Code of Ethics upon joining LICTA, and to uphold its principles in all professional activities.
